GeoBlue Expatriate Travel Medical Insurance in Mexico

Expatriate’s working, living or studying in Mexico can rest assured if their international medical policy is with GeoBlue while living abroad. If you only have domestic health insurance and Medicare typically provide very little and often no coverage while outside the U.S.

When living abroad, there are usually two options:

  1. Short-term plan, which provides medical coverage for up to 6 months.
  2. Long-term plan, which is 6 months or longer, up to permanent.

International Health insurance is specifically designed to work in the global medical market and allows you to see any physician or hospital in all of Mexico, and if you or a family member are struck with a Medical emergency and need to be flown back to the states, the GeoBlue policy offers coverage to do just that.

A few days or several years, plans are designed to meet you and your families needs while living, working, studying or on vacation abroad.

Expats working in Mexico City, Guadalajara, or in a maquiladoras in Tijuana?  Maybe vacationing in Cancun, Cabo or Mazatlan.  Or even an exchange student in La Paz or Puerto Villarta.  At the very lease you should have emergency coverage to cover you for the unexpected.

Your domestic health insurance may cover a few emergency services, most likely not all of them.  And it will definitely NOT cover an Emergency Medicare Evacuation, which can typically cost $30,000 to $60,000 depending on the circumstances.

For the air evac does a nurse need to accompany you on the flight home?  What if you or a family member is taken to a medical facility not up to your standards and they are scheduling immediate surgery.  What now?

With an International Health Insurance policy, one call will coordinate the transportation, ground and or air, to a medical hospital qualified to care for your illness or accident.  Companies like GeoBlue have thousands of contracted hospitals and physician networks in over 180 countries including Mexico, and take great pride in helping make your unforeseen illness or accident a much better experience.
